Welcome to Rethinking Revelation
We are so thankful you are here.
It is the goal of this podcast and blog, Rethinking Revelation to promote the Christian world view of World Wide Jesus Domination (WWJD)! Psalm 2 declares,
Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, “As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.” I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.” Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
The Psalm is fulfilled in the person and work of the Incarnate Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth. His life, death, resurrection, ascension, and adjudication all establish and procure his ruling and reigning as King of the nations. In his departing words to his followers, he charges them with the proclamation of his world-wide dominion when he says, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Making disciples is converting the nations. Converting the nations entails the individual person, but assumes a national effect. Christianity is to be the life giving influence in all the world. This blog will promote a biblical way of life and submission to the word of God contained in the scriptures of the Old and New Testament. Please feel free to engage and encourage me and everyone who reads herein.
